This report explores the positions that South Africans hold on the 'Kill the boer' song. The data in the report comes from a survey of 805 demographically and geographically representative participants conducted telephonically by the Foundation in April 2025. That survey had a margin of error of 5%. Totals may not add up to 100% where respondents refused to answer a question.

TENTATIVE CONCLUSIONS
The data indicates that a majority of South Africans across lines of race, education, language and party affiliation believe that the 'Kill the Boer' song is hate speech and should be banned or is inappropriate to sing in modern day South Africa. It is notable that even amongst EFF voters there is widespread condemnation of the song.
