Perceptions Of Whether The DA Cares About Registered Voters in The Western Cape

This report explores the perceptions of registered voters in the Western Cape of whether the DA cares about them broadly and their communities or, whether instead, the party is chiefly concerned with the welfare of a small minority of citizens. The data in the report comes from a July 2023 Foundation survey. The survey was conducted telephonically amongst a sample of 2 590 geographically and demographically representative registered voters in the Western Cape. The survey has a provincial margin of error of 2.9%. Totals may not add up to 100% where rounding has occurred.

Tentative Conclusions

A comfortable majority of Western Cape voters perceive that the DA government in the province cares about them and about their communities. However, reflecting a trend identified in earlier SRF reports perceptions split against the DA in lower socio-economic strata.
